Fitness training: how to get motivated and stay that way

Fitness and health is on most people’s priority list nowadays but the problem comes from getting motivation and keeping motivated long enough to see tangible results. Every year, people take new weight loss resolutions and vow they will stick to their exercise programs and healthy eating habit. Yet more than 95 percent of people end-up giving-up their training programs and instead of losing weight end-up gaining some and more.

First off, numerous studies have proven over and over that most drastic diets do not function as they have the effect of making the person who is trying to lose weight feel like she is being deprived and the one thought that is constantly on her mind is food. This is the reason, they give up their diet only to indulge in more food binging and regain all the weight they have lost.

The only proven way to get fit and stay healthy is by eating right and exercising regularly. A person should choose an exercise program she enjoys as she should continue to do it for the rest of her life if she wants to stay fit. Adding variety to your exercise program is also vital as we tend to get bored by doing the same things over and over. If  a person does not enjoy doing physical activity, she should incorporate something that is pleasant to her while exercising such as listening to music or watching a fun movie if you are on a treadmill.

Whether people want to get fit for healthy reasons or just to look better by displaying a nice six pack abs, everyone should find their most compelling motivation to stick to their health program.

A great way to find joy and motivation in exercising is to belong to a group. The fact that you are exercising with a group will have the effect to make you accountable and will help keep your inner drive. Another great way to get motivated is by listening to self-hypnosis recordings that are aimed at focusing on achieving your goals.

If you have the means for it, getting a personal trainer has great effects and will keep you motivated in your fitness and health program. Most people tend to stick to a fitness program if they invested time and money in it.

If money is a problem and you cannot hire a personal trainer, becoming a member of an internet group can be a great motivator and can help keep you on track. There are many web sites dedicated to offering people that are following a fitness and weight loss program a support community where they can exchange with like-minded persons. It can be very encouraging and rewarding to post your new pictures showing that you have lost weight and are now displaying a fit and leaner body.
