How to lose weight or not gain weight while on a cruise
Cruise vacations are getting more and more popular as people enjoy the easy travelling and being able to sample such luxury at an affordable price. Most cruises are known for offering great food and in an unlimited quantity which has been responsible for most vacationers gaining weight.
How can a person still enjoy a cruise and yet not pack on the usual ten to fifteen pounds? There are many ways a person can limit or even prevent weight gain while vacationing on a cruise ship and still enjoy great meals.
The good old energy equation still applies even if you are sailing on blue seas. That is to say if you do not want to gain weight your calorie intake should be equal or less than your calorie outtake.
The way to limit your calorie intake is to make wise choices when it comes to what you are going to eat. We all know that hamburgers and pizza really pack on calories so these should be on the food you will only eat once or not at all list. Most cruise ships are very proud to offer a lovely table of rich desserts but you must ask yourself if they are worth all the calories they will brig you.
Most cruise companies are aware that people tend to overeat and gain weight during their trips so they are now offering some healthy alternative meals throughout the day.
Alcohol with its nine calories per once can really contribute to weight gain during a cruise. After all, it is common to see those beer bellies around the poolside.
Another great way to even out your calorie equation and keep a healthy weight or even lose weight while enjoying your trip is to spend lots of energy. Cruise ships offer plenty of activities in which you can participate and either win prizes, make friends while keeping fit.
Most cruise ships also offer a complete state of the art gymnasium with all your apparels so you can still keep up with your exercise program. Furthermore, for once in your life, you do not even have the excuse of not having the time to stay fit.
Cruising also provides you with the opportunity to sign-up and take a fitness class with expert teachers. Your vacation can be a great way to finally get into yoga or Pilates and find new interesting ways to exercise.
While on vacation, especially in a warm tropical climate, you should keep in mind that your body needs lots of fresh water. Carrying your bottle of water will be a good reminder to drink at least ten glasses of water per day. You can be more generous on the amount of water you intake if you are consuming alcohol.
One thing you should keep in mind during your cruise vacation is that you are there for fun and that you should not obsess about calories get worried about portion sizes and points. After all, stress has been shown in many studies to cause retention of belly fat. If you are stressed, you can always listen to a relaxing self-hypnosis recording.
